Gloria Randolph - Founder
My son, Sean Cater, was murdered October 15, 1989 at
age 21. He was killed by an 18 year old youth.

I cannot describe the pain a mother experiences when
she loses a child so tragically and unexpectedly. In the
natural scheme of things, it seems so unnatural for a
child to die before his parents. I asked God, how was I
expected to go on with my  life when a part of me had
died too? My solace came from the word of God and
the loving support of my family and friends.

Addie and I began ministering to each other due to a
common tragedy, the deaths of our sons. We decided
that even though our sons had been taken from us, we
had much to give to other youth and their parents. So
from the deaths of two bright aspiring young men, Sean
Cater and James Mix, emerged a RAY of Hope for our
youth. By reclaiming our youth, with the help and
support of RAY members, other community
organizations, family and friends, we will be able to give
them a hope and a future.
